Who would have guessed that some tiny needles could be such a boon to your health and well being? The ancient practice of acupuncture improves your health from head to toe as proven by more than 2,000 years of practice in China. There is also clinical research and controlled trials that prove its efficacy.

HEAD - 20 sessions of electroacupuncture within 4 weeks reduced the number and severity of monthly migraines.

MOOD – DEPRESSION, ANXIETY - Once weekly acupuncture session can treat depression within three months (comparable to results from counseling), anxiety within a few visits, likely because it regulates neurotransmitters in your brain. It also regulates Dopamine, Serotonin, Oxytocin, and Endorphins which are the quartet responsible for your happiness. Neurotransmitter imbalances can cause problems with mood, memory, addictions, energy, libido, and sleep. They are at the root of these disorders.

SLEEP - Acupuncture revs up the production of neurotransmitters associated with relaxation and sleep, helping insomnia sufferers sleep better.

MENOPAUSE – Acupuncture is extremely effective in reducing the frequency and severity of hot flashes for up to three months after treatment, possibly by helping regulate body temperature.

NOSE – For seasonal allergy sufferers, 12 acupuncture sessions reduced symptoms and allowed people to use antihistamines less often.

THROAT – 10 sessions over a course of a month treated acid reflux disease and soothed heartburn better than upping meds, possibly by regulating acid secretion and speeding digestion.

IMMUNE-SYSTEM – Well placed needles boost the activity of immune cells that seek out and destroy infections.

PMS – Acupuncture reduced the symptoms of PMS, it may help reduce symptoms of PMS by: (1) Increasing relaxation and reducing tension. Acupuncture can alter the brain’s mood chemistry, reducing serotonin levels and increasing endorphins and neuropeptides, which can help to combat negative affective states. (2) Stimulating nerves located in muscles and other tissues, which leads to release of endorphins and other neurohumoral factors, and changes the processing of pain in the brain and spinal cord. (3) Reducing inflammation, by promoting release of vascular and immunomodulatory factors.

ADDICTIONS – Studies show that acupuncture could potentially be an effective tool in treating drug addiction & helping the detoxification process, A popular form of acupuncture for addictions is referred to as “NADA”. Coined by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association, NADA targets five points in the ear. “NADA is easy and great for community style treatment,”

A common question is - How many treatments will I need?  - The number of treatments will depend upon the nature, severity and duration of your condition, and above all, your vitality. In most cases;

  • Acute conditions (1day -1 month) require 2 - 6 treatments.
  • Semi-chronic conditions (3 - 6 months) require a series of 6 - 10 treatments.
  • Chronic conditions (+6 months) that have progressively worsened over the last few months or years, require weekly to bi-weekly treatments over the course of a couple to several months, depending on how chronic the condition is and how many months or years it has been present.
